General traits

Features
CORONATE HXT is different from the original biurets and urethane adducts. In addition to the excellent physical properties of general non-yellowing hardeners, CORONATE HXT is especially suitable for biurets and urethane adducts. Compared with urea, it has good heat resistance and good compatibility when mixed with polyols or solvents. It is widely used in motorcycle and car parts, car repair, carpentry, etc.

Solubility
CORONATE HXT is soluble in solvents such as ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, toluene, and xylene. However, it cannot be used with solvents such as alcohols containing active hydrogen.

When diluting
CORONATE HXT is diluted to 20% solid content. However, please first conduct a compatibility test with the solvent to be diluted and confirm before use. When CORONATE HXT is diluted to a solid content below 20%, turbidity and precipitation will occur. Please use solvents with a moisture content of 0.1% or less.

Compatibility
CORONATE HXT has excellent compatibility with other CORONATE products and NIPPOLLAN products. It also has excellent compatibility with acrylic polyols, alkyd polyols and special-purpose fluorine-containing polyols. However, please conduct a compatibility test before use.

Application
● CORONATE HXT is mixed with acrylic polyols to produce non-yellowing coatings with excellent wear resistance and solvent resistance. It can be used for two-liquid type automotive repair, industrial use and other purposes.
● Two-component coatings composed of CORONATE HXT and alkyd polyols are used as industrial and woodworking coatings.
● When CORONATE HXT is added with nitrocellulose, alkyd resin or polyethylene resin, it can greatly improve the solvent resistance and other physical properties of the coating.

Precautions for use
● During storage and safekeeping
CORONATE HXT is a reactive isocyanate compound. Care must be taken to avoid direct sunlight, away from moisture, and stored in a closed container. For long-term storage, please keep it in an environment with a temperature of 15~25℃.
● When using and repackaging
Isocyanate is an extremely reactive substance. When reacting with moisture, carbon dioxide gas is produced. When isocyanate is placed in a container mixed with moisture and stored in a sealed container, gas is generated, which increases the pressure inside the container and may cause the container to rupture. When a certain amount is taken from a container, deterioration may occur due to the effect of moisture in the air. Therefore, before sealing again after opening, it must be fully replaced with dry air, and great care must be taken to prevent moisture from being mixed in.
● When diluting
When diluting CORONATE HXT with a solvent, you must not only pay attention to the moisture content in the solvent, but also pay attention to preventing moisture from mixing during the dilution operation. Please perform dilution work in a dry room.
